It's time for our latest challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz, and today we have chosen "Man Cave". What do the men in your life keep in their sheds/rooms/garages? A heavy metal rock collection? A radio ham set up? A games console? Fishing tackle? For my husband it's gardening stuff, of course, but my Dad was a passionate DIYer and his shed was always full of painting, decorating and woodware supplies, so this card is a tribute to his memory.
I've used woodgrain effect paper, and screw-effect brads. I just LOVE these for masculine cards! And added some stamped decorating supplies, coloured with Promarkers. I stamped them all on the background too so that i didn't have problems cutting the can handle or roller fibres.

Guest Elf at Christmas Kickstart
Woo-hoo, the entire design team of the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is guest-elfing at Christmas Kickstart today!
It's challenge #10 - S for Snarky Christmas - so of course the sistahs were the obvious choice to deliver cards that come with a generous handful of snark.
The image is Sassy JJ Cheers from Bugaboo stamps, and the backing paper printed out from the CD The Best of La Pashe 2014. I've added some hot lips brads and a sentiment stamped with a Dylusions stamp.

White Bird
I recently bought a bundle of pre-loved dies and embossing folders, which included one that makes a complete front for an A6 sized card. The trouble is, it is top-hinged, and I like to make A5 cards with the fold at the top, so the only way I could use it directly on the card would be upside down, which of course would look very strange. So it had to be made using a separate sheet of card. I thought the top border of the sentiment looked like a perfect place for a die cut bird to perch, and the bird is obviously looking up at something so I gave him a little spray of flowers to look at.

My first ever Penny Slider card
You know how there are things that you keep meaning to try but never quite get around to? Well for me, the penny slider technique has been one of those for years. But today I actually got a Round Tuit (plus a couple of round pennies) and had a shot at one.
For the background of my travel themed card, I used an old map torn out of a road atlas, featuring the Lake District, an area I love. It was too flimsy to support a slider so I matted it with green card. The classic 60s style mini is stamped with an old Linda Luckin stamp, and I didn't notice until I was assembling the card that it's actually a left hand drive car - now that's going to be a challenge on some of those hairpin bends and 35% gradients, when practically every other car on the road is right hand drive. Oh well, it's all part of the ADVENTURE isn't it?

Kitties in a row
These gorgeous Siamese cat stamps came with an issue of Making Cards magazine about a year ago and I simply haven't used them enough!
I love the snooty expressions on their faces! The only colour I have added it their eyes, plus a little grey shading.

Turquoise tag
I've had this tag stamp for years and years, and used it umpteen times but always in the same way, stamped in black and coloured in, and I really fancied a change. So this time I heat-embossed it in silver, on some turquoise card.
The background of embossed sentiments is made with a Crafters companion folder, and I added half of a die cut snowflake to each side of the tag to make the sentiment on it stand out from all those on the background.

SOSS #134 - What the ****?
May the Fourth be with you blah blah blah..... and if that leaves you thinking "What the ****?" then you're not alone, because that's what Edna's been thinking too. Which means it's also the theme for our new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.
I just had to play with these stamps I've recently bought, Precious Pets from The Card Hut, because to me that is exactly what the look on the dog's face says.
And let's face it, wouldn't you say that if you were woken up by having fish bones flung at you by a wily looking cat? The cat is from the same stamp set, the sentiment is from Rubber Dance and the fish bones just a random loose stamp that floats around in my stash. The speech bubble - oh, the speech bubble! I wanted to use a speech bubble stamp and searched through my stash but could only find a couple, but with words inside them, too close to the edges to be cut away. Anyway, this seemed to be the right size so I masked the words before inking the stamp - and then forgot to remove the mask before stamping so I got a big black blob in the middle. And I did that twice over... Eventually I got it right, and thank goodness I had done it on separate paper and not directly on to the card.
The wall is stencilled and all the colouring done with pencils.
Now, let's see what you make of the theme - and of course of the work of the rest of the sistahs. You may find yourself crowned Queen or Princess of Snark.
