My childhood holidays

When I was a child, we had a very regular routine for family holidays. One week in spring and one week in autumn every year were spent in a self catering cottage beside the River Brathay about halfway between Ambleside and Skelwith Bridge in the Lake District. We loved those holidays - the setting was absolutely idyllic and the Lake District was a favourite with the whole family.

One of the landmarks we always loved to see was Bridge Ho0use in Ambleside, so although I'm not really a decoupage person, I couldn't resist  this decoupage design from the Best Of La Pashe 2012 CD. And instead of background papers, I used an Ordnance Survey map, carefully cut so that the left and right flaps meet with the exact location of the cottage we loved so much right in the centre.





This week's "Make my Monday"  challenge is Childhood Memories, and I'm playing along with this very personal memory.
