This fortnight's CD Sunday challenge is to use something recycled. I've had this lovely piece of card in my scraps box for ages
It was part of a whisky advert that was bound into a glossy magazine and I fell in love with that glossy black-on-black flourish.
I've spent the morning humming the Habanera from Bizet's Carmen, which is probably what put me in mind of the passionate colour combination of red and black, so I used a paper, image and border from Debbi Moore's "Black & White Chic Boutique", with red as the only added colour.
Oh, and if you, too, feel like listening to the Habanera, you can find it on YouTube here.
A perfect piece of recycling and producing a perfect card, i love the image and the added bling really sets it off, Thanks for joining us at CD Sunday for our latest challenge.

A beautiful card Jane. I followed the link and was delighted to see Andre Rieu. He did though look very bemused whilst conducting and I am not surprised as she flirted with him. A perfect accompaniment to your card.

I'm a big André Rieu fan, Carol. This time last year I was heading to Maastricht on a coach to see one of his famous Vrijthof concerts - so far the only time I've seen him live. But we were so far from the stage we could hardly see a thing - and the huge screens around the square don't show everything. So I think I'm happier to settle down in front of the TV to watch him in the comfort of my home. Next time I see him I intend to be in a purpose built concert hall with proper tiered seating so I can see as well as hear!
DeleteStunning card - the colours are striking and what a good job you kept that advert page, it goes perfectly and the red gems are the perfect finishing touch.

Fabulous card Jane. Love the red bling and that black card with the flourish was a great find.
ReplyDeleteI love Andre Rieu and have been very tempted to fly over for one of his concert. After reading about your experience I am not so sure now. I had always thought an outdoor venue would be more magical but you think indoor would be better. So I am going to think again on this one.....thanks for the info xx and thank you for sharing your fab card with us at CD Sunday Wynn DT x
I love your card and your recycled paper is lush no wonder you wanted to keep it to use. Thanks for joining us at CD Sunday this time.
