This week I am very honoured to be the guest designer at Butterfly Challenge, Mrs A's fortnightly challenge for butterfly-themed cards. The latest theme is Butterflies and R is for Ribbons. I decided to experiment with White on White for this card. On the actual card, the ribbons look pure white and the crystals are clear, but natural light being in such short supply at this time of year, the ribbons have ended up looking cream and the crystals blue! If I'd known that was going to happen, I'd have used pearls instead of crystals on the butterflies bodies, so they would match. But on the other hand, then they wouldn't have matched so well in real life!
A beautiful card! I love the embossing folder you've used and all the elements go so well together. White on white always looks stunning. I know what you mean about trying to take a photo without natural light. It's so difficult trying to get the colours to look the same as in real life.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on you Guest Designer spot over on the Butterfly Challenge. xx
Just popped over from the butterfly challenge to say congrats on your GDT spot. Fabulous card and I love the embossing with all the details xx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the Guest Design feature, Jane! We all understand how lighting affects the colors on our cards and no matter how you view this one, it is stunning!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteJane, Congratulations on being Mrs A's GD for ribbons & butterflies. Love the wonderful colors on this embossed card, the pink background and your ribbon looked apricot on my monitor. But lovely together, so that's a combo I shall try to remember to experiment with! The dies are impressive the way you've used the layers with the beautiful butterflies. Can just imagine that it is even more gorgeous IRL than your photo, which looks great to me! TFS & Hugs.
