Lazy Sunday

Aren't cats lazy? I've just spent a few days visiting her Mum, and her two cats must sleep for about 23 hours a day (they spend the other hour eating to give them energy for all that sleeping).

So I thought a cat's idea of "Fun in the sun" would be a day spent sleeping in a deckchair. Yes, there's a shiny beach ball there to play with, but it's much more fun to ignore it!

The sentiment and beach ball are from a House Mouse stamp sheet, and the cat is an unmounted stamp I was sent in a RAK many, many years ago. I  masked the stamped images off and then used watercolour pencils and a damp brush to make the sand and water, then stamped a "pebble" effect stamp over the sandy area, actually in several shades of yellow and orange, although only the brown one shows up.

I've added Wink of Stella to the sea, to look like the sunlight glinting on the waves, and glossy accents to the beach ball. They don't really show up on the photo, even the close up - and yet the shine of the embossing does. Isn't photographing your work frustrating?

  17. I hear ya on the frustration of photography, especially CAS cards. It's hard! But your card is just darling and so well designed. Thanks for sharing it at the OLS Challenge!
