Gold!

I love the classic combination of black and gold, so that's what sprang to mind as soon as I saw that this month's House of Cards challenge is Metallics.

I decided that I would use this lovely Thank You die with gold metallic card, and that I would give a lovely gold finish to the edge of the black layer using a Tonertex pen and metallic foil from Foil Play, but what to embellish it with? All my brads seemed too small and dull, my metal charms and embellishments  are currently all silver and bronze, and any more die cuts would detract from the words.

Then I remembered - Peel Offs! I'm sure I can't be the only crafter who has a massive hoard of them, having bought like crazy when I first started crafting and then found that I only ever seem to use simple borders and the occasional corners and words. But being a fan of butterflies and dragonflies, they feature heavily in my peel offs collection - so it wasn't too difficult to find something suitable. Plus I've had a lovely half hour of crafting nostalgia sorting through my old supplies - I really must lift some of them out and make better use of them. They might even come back into fashion!

  5. Hi Jane, very beautiful card you have made. You really made me laugh with your post. When i started making cards beginning of 2013 i too bought a huge load of peel off's but soon thereafter i started to embroider on my cards and using 3D images so there they are all stacked up in a folder LOL The same with all my embroidery yarn and my 3D images because i moved on to more difficult read more intresting techniques fairly fast. Still have to make my metallic card.
