B is for Boobs

Hopefully you are already aware that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. It's quite distressing to think how many people I know have been affected by this horrible disease, and alas not all of them with a successful outcome. Raising awareness not only encourages people to donate to support and research charities, but perhaps even more importantly  reminds ALL of us, yes, guys too, to keep an eye out for potential problems and get them dealt with as soon as possible.

With that in mind, the current challenge at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is "B is for Boobs".  And Edna's got her Pink Ribbon on to prove it.

To start with, I really thought I had nothing suitable to use for the challenge, but a rummage through the files on Joanna Sheen's Viva La Divas CD yielded this lady, boobs perkily pointing from the bed, dressed in a nightdress of perfect "Breast Cancer Awareness Pink". The sentiment on the pink panel didn't work for the theme, though, so I deleted it and then printed the image out onto printable acetate, just to add a bit of interest. If you're a regular reader, you will know about the love-hate relationship I have with this CD, it's one of those that suffers from "too much already done for you" syndrome, so I'm constantly trying to think of ways to liven it up and add a bit of ME to the images.

I stuck the acetate sheet onto white card, cut the pink panel and image apart, rounded the corners and layered them onto contrasting snippets, then I stamped a sentiment from the Dylusions "Laugh till you leak" set. I chose this one because so often when people are ill, they find themselves needing to support and comfort OTHER people around them who are having a hard time dealing with it, and having to be extra nice, just when both the illness and treatment are wearing them out.

As well as SOSS, I'm popping back into the Snippets Playground for my second visit of the week.
