How does your garden grow?

I'm sure you all know about my husband's love  of growing vegetables, so the Hero Arts Stamp Your Own Salad stamp set I recently treated myself to is going to come in very handy for making things for him and his blogging friends.

Today saw its first outing, to make a card featuring the carrot and beetroot stamps from the set. I stamped and masked the roots, then masked a line across the tops of the veg and used a very stiff-bristled paintbrush and Walnut Stain DI to stipple the lower strip of the card, to give a "crumbly earth" effect. Some more stamping, masking and colouring for the leaves, and the fun sentiment from the stamp set, finished the card off.

I saw when I removed the masks that I'd cut them a bit on the big side, so the "earth" didn't go right up to the edges of the veg, but I decided I rather liked the effect, as it gels nicely with the rather haphazard scribbly effect of the roots.

  2. i also love growing my own veggies, ahve been of a decade or so now, hate radishes though lol, but i love this stampset, I think Lawn Fawn is also coming out with one...hide my wallet...great card! very different take on down under but very clever
