I am really not sure what this manatee is doing in my digi collection. I must, at some point, have won it or bought it, which means that at some stage in my life I must have thought, "I know exactly what I need - an image of a Christmas manatee. One with bits of Elastoplast on his tail." I'm a bit worried about what I must have been drinking at the time....
Anyway, I think the doleful looking fellow works very well with some of the sentiments on the Dylusions Christmas sentiment sheet. I printed him out and, following the advice of several commenters when I had a problem colouring digis with Promarkers, left him to dry for 24 hours before colouring him. Result - no smudging. Thanks to everyone who suggested it. After colouring, I cut him out and finished his hat trim and beard with Wink of Stella.
The die cut "flowers" are from the Kanban set I sorted out last week. The larger flower was white but I coloured it with a yellow distress ink pad.

I have no idea why you have a manatee in your stash, but I'm glad you do, he's hilarious. Definitely related to Eeyore I think! Great card, certainly made me smile, especially with that sentiment. Cara x
ReplyDeleteAaaw bless him, he looks so fed up, probably from carrying all those gifts around! Thanks for making me smile! I hope you're having a lovely Sunday! Hazel xx

This is just cute as can be. Since I'm ex-Florida resident, Manatees are special in my book. This guy's just adorable with his Santa hat, and I really smiled at that sentiment. Good choice in this selection, and it's a perfect card if you know anyone in Florida to send it along! TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeletePerhaps the person who decided to draw an injured Christmas manatee had been drinking, too? :D Doesn't really matter, as you've turned him into a funny Christmas card! (And good for you being patient enough to wait an ENTIRE day for a digi to dry. So. Hard. lol) Thanks for joining the fun at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!
ReplyDeleteWonderful project and thank you for sharing with us at Allsorts this week.

ReplyDeleteYour blog post made me laugh even more that your lovely card did! It was the line "I was a bit worried about what I must have been drinking at the time!" (Laughing out Loud)... Wonderful Card Jane and you picked the perfect sentiment for that image - not an easy feat! Thanks for playing along with us over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!

You prolly didn't know that the manatee is my spirit animal! What are the changes, right?! Now that he has arrived, I wish you could see him ... no longer doleful, that's for sure! Giggles right and left of us and a contented agreement to go through life jingling our own bells! Happy Holiday hugs, Darnell
