Paint roller card

This week we are having the downstairs loo revamped, so home decorating is very much on my mind! We're not having purple walls, though.......

For this card, I stamped the paint roller, sentiment and can, then used masking tape to make a space the width of the roller, which I filled with purple watercolour paint. I then used watercolours to paint the roller and can, apart from the roller handle which I coloured with a silver gel pen. Not being all that used to water colours, I didn't realise that even though I'd stayed well within the lines, the paint would bleed - next time I will try heat embossing the stamping to see if that will form an effective barrier. Oh well, I love the fact that crafting is a constant learning curve!

I am sharing this with

  1. Brilliant Jane - such a clever design and I adore the cheerful colours! Having tried out my Zig water colours am also 'girding my loins' to try embossing the outlines where I don't want the colour to bleed. Mind you, it looks fine on your card anyhow!

Embossing always makes a good barrier but sometimes it can be such a pain getting it all out for one thing.
