Spot the Washi tape

I made this card in order to showcase a cute new roll of Hello Kitty washi tape I recently added to my collection.

Can you see the washi tape anywhere?  It, erm, appears to have done a vanishing act doesn't it?

I wanted to make a "naughty" card for Naughty or Nice  where the current challenge is to use a frame. I'd stamped the Grumpy Cat image from Katzelkraft, had a photo mount frame ready to decorate, chosen my sentiment and got my washi tape ready. Then I wanted some papers to use with it.

I have a big folder of odds and ends of patterned papers left over from very old Hot Off The Press kits, and I thought that would be a good place to look so I opened the folder and started my trip down memory lane...... by the time I'd gone through the whole thing, my mind had gone right back to the 1990s and the traditional HOTP styles and techniques that were fashionable then, and the washi tape was long forgotten. In fact the papers I chose would have clashed horribly with it. On the other hand, the twine I've used (do you envy me the painstaking time it took to get that chunky twine through the tiny buttonholes? Why didn't I just tie a knot and glue it on?) looks as if it could have been made to match the papers, although it's about 20 years newer. And not from HOTP. You win some, you lose some.

Now I've uploaded the photo I see I have STILL not got Grumpy Cat to sit up straight. He looks a bit like one of my cats did after chomping his way through a rich fruit cake that I had liberally fed with brandy and then left unattended.

So the washi tape is still NBUS. But the good news is I have now found some other Hello Kitty bits and bobs in my stash so it will get an outing soon..... I hope.
