I do love this fuchsia stamp, which I got from Clearly Besotted about 3 years ago. I chose it because fuchsias are favourite plants of my mother and one of my oldest friends, little realising how much I would come to love using it. The sheet also has an apple blossom stamp and some very useful sentiments, so it gets used a lot.
The friend's birthday is approaching (it's OK, she doesn't read blogs) and this is the card I have made for her.
I embossed the bottom third of the card front using a Sizzix ef and Brilliance ink in Pearlescent Orchid for a faux letterpress effect, then stamped the flower and sentiment and coloured the image with pencils. I generally prefer to colour with Promarkers but I wanted this to be a one layer card and I don't like the way they show on the inside if not layered up.

I have a Fuchsia hanging on my back porch right now, Jane, and it looks just like this. Thanks for sharing your lovely card with us at Addicted to Stamps and More.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, love that stamp too and the lovely embossed detail x
ReplyDeleteI was drawn to your fuchsia as I have a Clearly Besotted set of fuchsias but it's a bit different to yours, maybe mine is older. Anyway, you have done a fabulous job with them and I just LOVE the faux tin press folder you've used at the bottom. It's a great card. Thank you for joining in with us at Retro Rubber.
ReplyDeleteFuchsia's have a special place in my heart. I have never had a proper garden of my own and at various points in my life, both my mother and my grandmother have gifted me a little corner of theirs and I always grow Fuchsia's. I really love that folder at the bottom of your card, with the bit of pink at the bottom. Thanks for playing along again with Retro Rubber. Claire DT

Hi Jane! Another beautiful card and these fuchsias are sweet! They remind me of my grandma's house when I was little. She grew them right outside of her doorstep. Thank you for that lovely memory! Thanks for playing along with us at Retro Rubber!
