Five little robins

I love this sweet Woodware robin stamp set that I won a couple of years ago in the playground. There are so many different poses and orientations, making them great for horizontal or vertical DL cards.

I've used 5 of the images for this card

I wanted a "torn edge" effect to the white panel, but it was too thick to tear so I used deckle edged scissors freehand so that the edge wasn't too regular. My deckle edged tearing guide still came in handy though as I used it with a fine marker to draw in the "earth", then stamped the sentiment, also from the robin set, below it.

I arranged the robins to fill the earth line then used the Misti to stamp them, stamping again onto red and brown paper, then paper pieced the coloured papers over the stamped images and backed the panel with more of the red paper. I used a white gel pen to add highlights to the robins' eyes.

I'm going to be putting this aside to send to one of my Twitter friends, but in the meantime I am sharing it at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown where this week's challenge is Paper Piecing.
