Edna's desperate for her caffeine fix over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers just now, that's why our latest challenge is Need Coffee.
I'm much more of a tea drinker, so I don't really have anything coffee related in my stash, apart from a sheet of stickers sent to me by the lovely Darnell, so they have found their way onto this card.
Sadly I have finally run out of the coffee-grounds-infused cardstock I bought aeons ago at the Eden Project so I made a rough imitation of it using Brushos. The other background paper is one that's been lurking in my stash for years and I have No Idea at all where it came from. I've divided the papers diagonally so I could use the sticker borders to create an N for "Need". The "coffee art" on the bottom left is made by using a coffee art stencil and metallic paint - it doesn't work as well as a craft stencil, after all it's really designed for shaking cocoa powder onto froth with. I don't suppose my craft stencils would perform too well at decorating a cappuccino either.
That poor lady looks rather how felt by the time this card was finished. I think I'd better go and have a nice cup of tea to recover......
I love your 'home made" paper, great job with brushos. (a class I took used a take out cup with brown to make coffee circles) I love th borders and of course that image she really need her coffee today. Great job on the challenge.
ReplyDeleteYou did a fabulous job on this card, Jane! The Brushos paper goes very well with everything else. And I didn't see the big honking N until you pointed that out. Perhaps I need more tea....
ReplyDeleteGreat fun! Love the brushos effect - can't get the hang of them to save my life, Jo x
ReplyDeleteFabulous card, I love the Brusho effect - it looks perfect! Some wonderful images too. xxx

ReplyDeletefab card. love the background
ReplyDeleteSpooky, Jane, I just took another sheet of those stickers out yesterday to see if Hammy could come up with any ideas! We do often look like that after a crafty session, lol! Hey, it's better than housework and I really like the way you did your coffee-ground panel!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of coffee stash for not having any coffee stash! Such a fun card, Jane. Maybe next year we should suggest T is for Tea? ;)
ReplyDeleteSo much fun and so many details, you have outdone yourself with this project, dear Sistah ♥
