Butterfly duo

Where is this year going? It's already challenge number 5 at Twofers, I could swear it only started with the first one about five minutes ago!

There will, as always, be a brief pause here while I go and take a photo of my two cards together - something I forget to do Every Single Month.

The die I have used on both cards is the First Edition Layering Butterfly die, which I seem to be using on half the cards I make at the moment.

On the first card I cut it in light turquoise plain and dark turquoise patterned papers, and added a scrap of self-adhesive hessian, a stamped sentiment and some tiny paper flowers that have been in my stash for years. I knew they would come in handy some time!

I am sharing this card with

C.R.A.F.T. - Birthday
Watercooler Wednesday - All About Occasions

For the second card I cut the die in yellow and black and teamed it with two patterned papers from my stash and some pretty ribbon as well as a sentiment cut with an old Cuttlebug die. I thought the name of the die would be stamped on the metal, but unless it's called "Made in China" I must be wrong.

I used my Hougie Board to score those pleats - I'm far too messy to do that freehand!
I'm popping into the Butterfly Challenge with this card, for a second visit, this time using Harvest Gold and Hearts.

  2. You had me going for a bit looking for the hearts.! I even turned the paper over in case they were hiding underneath!!! Stunning with the black and that ribbon goes a treat too. Thankyou for coming and spinning the celebration wheel with me again. Hugs Mrs A.

  3. I love that turquoise butterfly on the hessian. Also, I really like how you cut out the birthday sentiment. Yellow, black and white are always a winning combination and with the pleats and ribbon this card is gorgeous.

  4. These are two pretty flutterby cards, Jane! How beautiful that turquoise looks up against that textured hessian! I love that you have given her a pp body and that your daisies found a perfect home! Your second card is so charming with the daisies and hearts and summery yellows with black! I would love a top in any of the pretty patterns you used and would wear the little butterfly as a lovely brooch! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #5 and remembering about the duet photo! Hugs, Darnell

  6. I really like the versatility of your two-fer buttefly cards Jane. The CAS one for our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge is very clean and beautiful in its design. I like the patch of burlap acting as an anchor for the flowers, butterfly and sentiment. Great vivid colours for both butterfly and the delicate little flowers too. Thanks so much for playing along with the "Any Occasions" Challenge at Watercooler Wednesday this week.

  10. Wonderful twofer, Jane! Hessian makes a perfect background for your turquoise butterfly and such a bonus to use your snippets of flowers that pair beautifully with it. I love that bold pattern of yellow, black, and white with your pleats and ribbon that give your bold yellow butterfly a perfect resting place. Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!
