Owls and more owls

These lovely owl dies are supposed to be for Christmas, hence the Santa hats included in the set, but I think they are far too sweet to keep just for one purpose!

Here they are in their festive regalia:

The owls, branch and hats are all cut from snippets, of course, with a subtle snowy background and a Christmassy sentiment.

Now, I don't know about you but I always smile when I see an image of birds standing on each other's heads. I don't know why, perhaps because it's so unlikely to happen in real life? Anyway, I really wanted to make my owls do that, and I also wanted to use up this very last snippet of a piece of 12 x 12 paper that I've eked out so frugally it's lasted me about 5 years!

I am sharing this with
Watercooler Wednesday - Occasions

And now here are the two cards together

Because I have used copious amounts of snippets, I am sharing with

  3. I'm smiling so big at your cards, Jane! They're completely adorable as a Christmas card and then it's so nice they can doff their hats and become everyday owls! The two sizes are perfect for stacking. Don't know why, but I love that look, too. Pretty CAS look for your Christmas card, and a cool fold for the birthday card. Super cute paper, and I can relate to the 5 years it took to finish using it. I have some similar owl paper with coordinating polka dots that's been sitting at least that long. Might as well just hang it on the wall like art! I'm so glad you joined us in our Twofer Birds Challenge!

You get a special high five for using up your snippet of beautiful owl pp! It's perfick! I'm with you on getting a kick out of birds standing on top of each other! I especially think it's a HOOT when owls do it!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #12! Hugs, Darnell

  6. I love your cards, Jane! I love owls anyway and seeing the owls on top of each other makes me think of Totem Poles. Love the paper and those additional owls inside the card. Great fun! Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
