How often have I done this - fallen in love with a large stamp and treated myself, then got it home and realised just how limiting it is as it is a stand alone centrepiece that makes a perfect card front by itself, with no added creativity. It is a lovely stamp though, part of the recent Woodware new release. I'm going to have to challenge myself to think of different ways to use it. Here's its first outing.
I inked the stamp with two different deep red Nuvo Hybrid inks, using a slightly lighter one towards the centre of the stamp, and stamped it onto white card then matted with kraft and dark red.
I stamped the sentiment on the background card and then stamped butterflies and dragonflies all over, using stamps from the new issue of Creative Stamping.

What a beauty. Love the colours of red you have used on here and I just love that new Woodware stamp. Shopping trolley here I come!! Thankyou for coming and spinning the butterfly wheel with me . Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteBig stamps can be challenging Jane and do make you look at them in a totally different way, I often find just a small section can make a great focal element and surprises me sometimes. But I love what you have dne with this one and especilly keeping it tine on tone, great for our new February challenge at Stamping Sensations, thanks for joining in.

I would've fallen in the stamp trap with you, Jane! It's a gorgeous stamp! I think you already rocked a great design here and knowing you, you'll have several more up your sleeve! Me, I would have stamped it once in the lower righthand corner and then written what you said, haha. You are so much more designventurous than me, which inspires me! Hugs, Darnell
