Snippets, Snowflakes and Sparkle

Since sorting out my snippets I have a much clearer  idea of what's there for me to play with so finding what I need for a card takes a lot less time.

The main task here was to find pieces of red card that would fit the large word stamps I wanted to use,  and some white to cut into snowflakes, but I also found  this sheet of mottled aqua paper that would make a lovely background.

The stamps come with matching dies, so I stamped and heat embossed the words in white and then die cut them.

Then I die cut lots of snowflakes and arranged them over the aqua to create a snowy background and topped them with the words.  I finished by adding sparkle in the form of lots of tiny gems - please tell me I'm not the only person who feels a snowflake needs a "centre" like a flower, despite knowing that in real life it simply doesn't happen?

I've made this card for two challenges :

Christmas Kickstart - Delectable Die Cuts

Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge 349

  1. Really great card Jane - and I loved seeing how you match/sort out which snippet to use. I'm with you on the snowflake centres as well! BUT, if you do win this current prize I promise you that the matching is a walk in the park. So long as you have the big die cuts lined up then your sentiment cut will always work out right! I lost a lot of sleep over this one working out the mechanics of it all :)

Di xx and a woof (as we're not far away) from Dudley! Little scamp is fast asleep like a starfish in the bathroom - he loves cool tiled floors it seems. BUT, rustle a cheese wrapper and he'll be there like a flash! Do let me know if you would would ever like to babysit him - he comes with toys, love and food!

  2. Wouldn't it be great though if they did!!! This card has come together beautifully using up your snippets and the background paper was a great find from your stash. My recent turnabout of my craftroom turned up lots of items I had not exactly forgotten about just forgotten where they were. Everything is labelled up now so no excuses for not using. Hugs Mrs A.

  4. I agree; the centers of snowflakes look bare without a rhinestone or brad there. I love how you also included them around your snowflakes!

    I love this beautiful card.
