#1 Anything Goes at CD Sundays

Our first challenge of 2019 has just launched at CD Sundays and it's an easy one - Anything Goes. The only condition is that you include something from a CD on your work - that is, something printed out from a papercrafting CD. Listening to a CD playing while you create your card doesn't count - you may think it sounds too obvious to mention, but a recent entrant actually did that!

You may have noticed it says challenge #1 in the subject - we've made a few changes at CD Sundays and will now be numbering our challenges. Another change is that we are not going to be giving prizes except for a few very special challenges which we will announce over the course of the year. But one thing has NOT changed, that's our rule about using something from a CD!

Here's my card:

The topper and papers were printed from the late Polyanna Pickering's CD "A Walk on the Wild Side". The sentiment is also from a CD, Debbi Moore's "Shabby Chic Paris". The peel offs used for the masks and dancers were originally silver but I coloured them with Promarkers (TIP - leave them a couple of hours to dry before attempting to peel them off the backing or you'll have to redo them). The zebra stripe panel is actually a tiger stripe embossing folder, used with white card then lightly swiped with an almost-dried-up black ink pad. I like to hang on to old ink pads for tasks like this where a nice juicy one could transfer so much colour that it got into the "inny" bits.

The whole card makes a great reminder of a long-ago family holiday to Africa where, among many exciting sights,  we saw herds of zebra, African dancers, carved wooden masks  and fabulous fabrics.

I am sharing this with the January challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies

  3. Janewhat a great layout. I love the way you’ve placed the diecut circle to just cut off the corner of the striped matt.....intriguing. Love the colour palette too.

  5. A beautifully constructed card Jane. It also reminded me of my one holiday in Africa. We took the three children to Kenya for 3 weeks and had a wonderful holiday.
