Penny Farthing

Given that I've never even ridden a normal bicycle I'm always surprised by my fascination for penny-farthing bicycles. So as you can imagine, this die gets a lot of use!

For the background I used Versamark to stamp the "Time" word block stamp randomly over kraft card and left it to allow the watermark effect to develop - I think it works better on kraft  than on any other type of card. Then I stamped a pocket watch stamp randomly over it in dark brown ink. The browns of the background make the cream die cut penny-farthing really pop from the card, don't they?

I am sharing this with

Alphabet Challenge - V is for Vehicle
Inkspirational - Use Kraft

Allsorts - Make it masculine
Little Red Wagon - Time Will Tell
Watercooler Wednesday - Masculine

  3. Jane, your card is a real eye-catcher with it's contrasting bike to the vintage background (well-paired, by the way!). I like your technique of watermark then the darker watches. It gives your card depth and texture. Thank you for sharing your creative talents with us at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges! -Donna

  8. I'm a bike racing official in our province (I do NOT race...too scary!) and oh, how I love bikes...especially road bikes! Your penny-farthing bike certainly brings a mega watt smile to my face! Perfect in white set atop the kraft background! Thrilled to see this gem in the Inkspirational gallery!
