Well, given the snow we've had in the last couple of days - and the chaos it has caused - making Christmas cards seems like a very good idea!
I made this card for Christmas Kickstart challenge where the theme this time is Festive Felines. To be honest, it's not the card I'd originally planned - I had a super NBUS stamp I wanted to use, of a cat wearing reindeer antlers, only once I'd stamped it, I realised that it wasn't a cat wearing reindeer antlers at all, it was a reindeer wearing reindeer antlers, as they do. So that had to be set aside for a future project and it was back to the drawing board.
And of course back to my favourite cat stamps, the Katzelkraft "Les Chats Russes" set. I managed to resist the temptation to use the Grumpy Cat image for a change, because I wanted my cat to be serenading us with a Christmas carol.
I stamped and masked the cat before stamping the other elements, all of which came from various recent magazine sets.
This was a very quick and easy card so I am also sharing it with Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge where quick and easy is this week's optional theme.
Ha ha. Was that a case of should have gone to Specsavers ! Lol. This cat card is very festive looking. Well we ended up with 5 inches of snow. The Doc has cleared a path to the end of the drive and we are about to brave it down to the village on foot for essentials. According to the news last night Hsmpshire was one of the worse hit spots across the country. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteGreat story about stamp no.1, Jane. This card is gorgeous and I love your bright colour combo. I also find myself returning to this set time and time again. I actually prefer them to the Tim Holtz cats, Jo x
ReplyDeleteWhoooops.... Thanks for playing at Christmas Kickstart, Jo x
ReplyDeleteSuper cute card, love those cats.
ReplyDeleteWhy do I look at that and think your cat is not singing in tune? Love Dawn x
ReplyDeleteGreat card, love the idea so I might have a go. :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous masking job! Love these cats, and your kitty card is perfect with this one!
ReplyDeleteChuckling over the case of (almost) mistaken identity on the reindeer stamp!! LOL... Sounds like something I would do....in fact just recently discovered I HAD done. An embossing folder has what I thought were cattails in a marshy scene....it's actually just grass heads in a meadow! lol.. Whatever!!! Hehehehe....
ReplyDeleteI just love your caroling cat! The expressions on that series of cat stamps never fails to make me smile. Fabulous bright and merry coloring. Thanks so much for sharing your Festive Feline at the Christmas Kickstart Challenge!!
