Birthday Cat

No, you're not imagining it, I really didn't post a cat card yesterday. We had the grandchildren here for the day, and as the coronavirus situation is worsening and we don't know what will be happening at Christmas, we decided to have Christmas Dinner together yesterday. We spent the morning cooking together, got out all the festive table linen and serving dishes and then downloaded a film and spent the afternoon vegging out in front of the TV. Just like a real Christmas Day, and the grandchildren loved ot - so did we! But I'm back with a kitty card today.

A card made with just dies and an embossing folder, for a change. The smocking folder is a very useful one as it has two completely different effects depending which way round you use it. I tried the cat die cut against both surfaces and it stood out best against this one.

I am sharing this with

  3. Super cat die and the embossing folder too. So smart to celebrate early. I'm in Pennsylvania and we are going to have a Zoom Pollyanna. Anything to keep the connection with my family. Take care.

  4. Oh Jane, I can only imagine how hard it is for families trying to stay together and especially since the holidays are not far away. We are very safe here in Tasmania, our Premier shut our island down and we have had no covid cases for 3 months. He was strict, we didnt like it at the time, but we are all in a very good place. I pray that a solution will soon come to you soon and Christmas will be celebrated wholly again. I love your little lacey kitty! What a gorgeous die! I've really enjoyed visiting your blog. Stay safe and hopefully we will meet again next year!

  5. So glad you were able to get together with your family! We are still getting together for Thanksgiving, but I don't think everyone will be coming (like my 83 year old aunt & my cousins, but they're still thinking about it!). The only reason we are is that everyone has been very diligent about social distancing and quarantining when necessary. Anywho - live your cute card - the embossing folder is so pretty! And I love the filigree kitty, too. Purrfect combo!

  15. What an elegant card with that lacy cat silhouette and the embossed background. Your early Christmas dinner sounds wonderful! I don't know what will happen here in the US with the COVID situation, but I suspect we'll be still distancing during the holidays as well. Thank goodness for the internet, right?

  20. The kitty die is beautiful and looks so pretty against the embossed background.
Such a great idea to have Christmas Dinner early before the lockdown. It is supposed to be for at least four weeks, but my bet is that it will be much longer, so wise decision. And I can imagine what a fun day you all had! xx

It was a great idea to celebrate early with your family. And who knows? Maybe you'll be able to have another get together around the holidays, too.

I really love your beautiful card, Jane! That smocked embossing folder is totally fabulous...I can see why you like it. It is the perfect background for this intricate cat die. Pink and black always looks great, too!
