In a tearing hurry

This was a VERY quick card to make - mainly because I already had the butterfly panel made, as I'd done it for another project and then decided the colour was all wrong.

The panel was embossed on a white-cored card and then sanded. I think the embossing folder was a magazine freebie. Today I tore the edges and took a larger piece of toning card and tore and inked the edges of that, also inking the edges of the base card. The die cut leaf swirl - a Joanna Sheen die - was already sitting on my worktop, having been cut for the Tom Kitten card I did the other day where it looked all wrong.

The cork strip and the wooden flower and butterfly have been languishing unopened in their packs for months. Some time last year I had a facial appointment (ooh, get me!) in a nearby town that I don't visit very often, so I allowed myself plenty time to find my way - and ended up with time to kill. So, as you do, I drifted into a nearby Dangerous Shop (Dangerous Shops are, in my book, craft shops, kitchenware shops and book shops) and fell in love with these little wooden embellishments  - isn't the poker work on them sweet? And I had to buy the self adhesive cork strip as well because, well, why wouldn't you?

So all I needed to do today was a few minutes of tearing and inking. I really ought to fish out all my "Wasn't quite right for the job" scraps and see what else I can do with them!

Jane this is absolutely spot on. Now realise what was missing on my fairly happy with it card. I needed to darken round the edges which I have now done and it makes such a difference. Lol. I love the coloured those wooden embellishments are so me. Thankyou for fluttering by my # 30. Hugs Mrs A.

It was well worth keeping these pieces because they are now part of a beautiful card! That´s rather a nice embossing folder. Those are the shops that would make my danger list too. Kate x
