Greeting the sunrise

This little wooden cockerel is all ready to greet the dawn.....

As you can see, I'm still struggling with white balance! I'm hoping that the longer, lighter days coming soon will help me with that.

The die cut circle of linen finish card is sponged with distress inks and topped with the little wooden rooster, which is from a pack of farmyard themed wooden embellishments. I scored parallel lines on the background card and then placed a very fine gold peel off between each pair of lines, to pick up the gold of the sentiment which is a very old die cut one from my stash.

I am sharing this with:

CASology - Score

Oh, this is gorgeous Jane! Accentuating those score lines with the gold thread adds a striking 'morning glow' to the whole card! Striking, clean and clever! Thank you for sharing with us at CASology this week!

this is beautiful! The scored lines with the strips of gold - the textured golden sun - gorgeous! You don't look like you're struggling with white-space at all!

Love the gold peel between the score lines - must have been difficult to line up so perfectly. So happy you could play in the CASology challenge this week.

You can almost hear the cockerel crowing Jane! That figure looks great against the morning view that you've created with the beautifully blended circle. Such a good use of the sketch. Thanks so much for joining us at Less is More xx
