Lacy layers

Before I start, just a note to say that instead of the comments box at the bottom of this post, you *should* see the words "Post a comment" and clicking on it will open up a pop up box for your comment. This is to try to get round the issue of having to click scores of times or wait about 45 seconds for a comment to go through, which seems to be affecting most Blogger blogs at the moment. Those with a pop up box appear to be unaffected by it, so I'm giving it a try, fingers crossed that it helps to speed things up for you when you visit. Don't worry about the "I'm not a robot" thingy, just ignore it and your comment will go through anyway!

Now, on to the card.

The white layers are made using a Spellbinders die set. I saved the waste and used some of it for the corners. I love this die set but it's a right pain to get the cut out of the die - I killed my Tool'n'One getting this one out and will be picking bristles out of the carpet for weeks. All the usual tricks for helping to make dies easy to release seem to hit a brick wall when faced with this particular die, which is why you don't see it on here as often as it deserves to be.

The butterfly is an Indigo Blu stamp that was part of a cover gift set on a magazine 2-3 years ago.

I am sharing this with

Well the die may be a pig to use but you've made a beautiful card with it Jane and I love the butterfly. I found your tip on Brenda's blog yesterday and it seems to be working fine so far. Barbxx

So sorry you are having trouble with this beautiful die, the card stock difficult to release from some of the more intricate dies.
Have you tried to run your die several times on the Big Shot with some dryer sheets? I've used this method and it works fine, hope you give it a try because this die is just beautiful and the perfect frame for this gorgeous butterfly.
Thank you for playing along with us at RETRO RUBBER, hope you play again soon.

Absolutely beautiful card Jane! I adore white on white and that die (oink) is a beauty! Love the butterfly so much as well.I have similar SB set which always plays up - using wax paper between the die and the card stock is usually a great help. At least the die and wax paper plus card will part company but of course then you end up having to poke all the pieces out of the die cut piece of card itself more often than not!

Lovely day down here innit - not!

Hugs

Beautiful card, love the white on white.
I use baking paper from Tesco for my die cutting and with the exception of very intricate dies they tap out easily. I must admit the only dies I ever have trouble with are Spellbinders...

I also have that die set. Yes it is stubborn!! I rub my card and die with a tumble dryer sheet before cutting, then after the first pass through the machine I turn the die/card 90 degrees and run it through again, works ok, xx
