Heat Embossing at Back to Basics

It's time for challenge #5 at Back to Basics and this time we would like you to use the technique of Heat Embossing.

I made an inked and stamped background and only embossed the dragonfly to make it really show up against everything else. Most embossing powders give a raised and/or glossy finish but I chose a holographic powder which I used over black ink. This doesn't give a raised line, what it DOES do is give the most amazing sheen that appears to change colour when you look at it from different angles. The colour change is hard to capture in a photo but this close up gives you some idea of the glinting iridescent effect - very much like a real dragonfly glinting in the sun!

The dragonfly stamp was bought for me by my daughter when she was living in San Francisco, so it must be between 10 and 12 years old, and the various plant stamps are all from a Graphicus sheet that must be around 20 years old.

I am sharing this with
