Those London dies again....

Last weekend saw the 4th of July, US Independence day, so lots of current craft challenges have the theme "Red, white and blue" or "Patriotic". Now, being British, I don't really have anything to celebrate on the 4th of July (in fact according to the history books, quite the opposite!) but our own national colours are also red, white and blue, and with our latest little princess having been christened this weekend and some of our sporting heroes doing pretty well at the moment, we've got lots to feel patriotic about!

I seldom go for more than a few weeks without using my Docrafts Create-a-Scene London skyline dies, and here they are yet again. This time I wanted to keep my card very CAS, so I just used a single layer, with the Big Ben clock tower cut in white linen card and stuck to a blue background, with a single red double-decker bus in the foreground. All cut, of course, from snippets!

I mounted the whole panel on an A5 white card, with co-ordinating dots of red, white and blue Candi to balance the design. (Yes, that blue really is exactly the same shade as the background card, never believe anybody who tries to tell you the camera never lies. Mine's a right old fibber!)

The image panel seemed to merge into the background a bit, so I drew a line around it with a blue gel pen to help to define it a bit better.

I'm sharing this with:

This is so striking, Jane, and very patriotic! My camera lies too, not only with the colours, but distorting the card when I KNOW things are straight! xx

I'm an Anglofile so I love anything British; tea, BBC productions, Darwin...it's a very striking card with iconic details. The colours are beautiful. My camera doesn't like to work with colours either, it dislikes pink and dark green.

Have a wonderful week, sweetie!

Love and hugs
