Inspired by Pinterest

A few days ago, I spotted this pin  over on Pinterest and thought what a brilliant idea for using up snippets! I have so many scraps of patterned paper in the "too big to throw away but too small to use" size bracket, and this is perfect for them - and would look different every time it was made, depending on the scraps you choose. (Incidentally, didn't Pinterest used to have an "embed this pin" option where you could get the HTML code of a pin to insert in your blog? And how is it that when you repin something, the top comment on it becomes attributed to YOU rather than the original commenter?)

Anyway, I picked out a whole heap of blue snippets and cut them into 1.5 cm wide strips, then stuck them sort-of-log-cabin style onto card, trimmed and inked the edges, stamped a greeting using an old HOTP stamp that was the perfect size for the job and put the finished piece onto an A5 card blank.

I'm sharing this with Pixie's Snippets Playground - week 204 and with Crafty Gals Corner - use scraps

What a great way to use a strips of snippets Jane! All those patterned blues work so well together - a great card!

Have a lovely holiday - hope you find lots of sunshine to set you up for the Winter! If I could walk I'd come and carry your bags :)

Hugs

Brilliant card, Jane! I read in a craft magazine sometime ago about a similar technique, but can't find the article. I really must go through my magazines and cut out the useful articles and file them.

I read on the Playground blog about you accusing me of being a temptress! If I am, I'd just like to say that you've taught me well! LOL! xx

A great card Jane. Love all your blue strips. I hate throwing anything away. Must sort out my strips. I agree with you that Liz is a temptress. Barbxx

I think you should have some sort of prize for this excellent use of snippets, Miss Jane!! Your card is awe-mazing!!

As far as the wee baby hamsters go, if you think YOU were startled, imagine MY reaction! Your question is one that scientists from Stanford are madly studying and as we speak, there is a small panel of five young biologists in the Playhouse. (Between you and me, they seem like they are doing more playing than studying!) If and when the answer is derived, I'm sure you will see all of us on your nightly world news! So beciting!! And it won't be my fault if these erudite young people have glitter on their noses for all the world to see on the telly. After all, I AM in the middle of making Christmas cards and they're under my feet!! Hugs, Darnell
