Is it vintage or shabby chic?

I do get confused between vintage and shabby chic! I suppose vintage elements can be used in designs that aren't shabby chic, and shabby chic cards can be made with images too modern to be considered vintage, but there is a huge overlap between the two and I think this card fits firmly into both camps.

The image is stamped using an unmounted stamp that I've had for 4 or 5 years - I think it is a Crafty Individuals one. I've teamed it with papers, flowers, buttons and doileys from the dovecraft Curiosity Corner range - again, things that have been in my stash for several years now - scraps of ribbon and lace and some punch-out letters from an old goody bag from my early days of papercrafting. Oh, and a random bird sticker, I'm not really sure where or when I originally got that!

I'm sharing this with

also, although there is no challenge this week I'm linking up to Use Your Stuff because I've used such a LOT of stuff!

Oh, I definitely can count this beautiful layered card as vintage but it absolutely has a shabby chic vibe as well. Love it! Thank you for playing with us at Retro Rubber and hope you will join us again soon.

Love it! That sticker is a yellow-rumped warbler... Birders call it a "butter butt" Haha! Love this. Agree: shabby/vintage has a large overlap. Thank you for sharing this piece at Shopping Our Stash! Thanks for always visiting us!

I'm with Donna, I have no idea what the difference is, I thought 'shabby chic' was a fancy way of saying vintage. I too think your card is all kinds of awesome. Thanks for playing along at Retro Rubber again. Claire DT

Oh WOW!! Love, love all the delicious layers with all those pretty patterns and details, love the doily, that in itself makes it vintage to me. And even if Mother's Day has passed in England, this card would be delightful for any Mom to receive, beautiful tea cups and sweet little bird, one of my favorite combinations.
Thank you for Playing along with us both at RETRO RUBBER and SHOPPING OUR STASH, hope you come back and play again soon.
Hugs.

I think Shabby Chic Vintage is definitely a style! Isn't it satisfying to use up bits from your stash like this? I think the bird on the cups is a scene-stealer. Thanks for joining us at Retro Rubber Challenge.
