It'll all come out in the washi

I have a confession to make. I have loads of washi tape. Loads and loads and loads of it. And then some. Yet how often do you see it in my makes? Once a month, I would guess, if that. At least half my rolls of it are still sealed in cellophane. Nevertheless, I found myself eyeing up more in the stationery shop yesterday.

So I thought I'd better get on and use some before my resolve crumbles and I end up buying more. At least this card used quite a lot (that is, when you include all the incorrectly lined-up pieces I had to throw away!).

I've used two rolls, a black and white squiggly one and a white and black spotty one. I arranged then in a "tick" shape, mitreing the ends in the middle. Even carefully mitred, the join still looked a bit scrappy so I covered it with a tiny black peel-off border which then looked so neat and tailored I decided to do it at the edges of the card too.

After that all there was left to do was stamp my squiggliest sentiment!

  2. Ok, ok I fess up too. I have rolls of the stuff in my drawers. I do use bits of it though to hold the card down when putting it through my big shot so that it doesn't move. I feel ever so much better now knowing I do at least use a titchy bit. Lol. Thankyou for coming to my rescue about lack of comments . Have tried the fix and it works .
This card looks very striking . Hugs Mrs A.

  3. LOL! I'm so glad I'm not the only one with loads of Washi tape (unused) and still shopping for more. At least you actually use yours. Great card and I like how you finished it off.

I confess also to having a drawer full of washi tape that is rarely used. But it’s so PRETTY!

  5. Had to chuckle as I read the start of your post. I'm in the same boat. I think my problem is I don't really know how to design well with the tape, and also, I forget about having it! I love this b&w look, and you've done that miter absolutely stunningly. That's not easy, and it made such a striking design. Plus used up a lot of your washii so you can buy some more with less guilt! TFS (and I'm still having comment notification problems, so trying to get round to folks. Way behind).

  6. Oh, fabulous. I might have to nick your idea. I've got tonnes of tape that I don't use. I bought three rolls the other day 'cause they were 50p each. Love Dawn x

  7. Perfect job of mitering and a very impressive card, I too have hoards of washi tape but only use it when there is a challenge forcing me to do so.

  10. I'm a washi hoarder too! My husband made me a cute little shelf for them and they look so pretty displayed like that - how can I use them?? Anyway love how you used your washi here and the peel off borders add a fabulous crisp finish! Thanks for playing along with CASology this week!
