A trip to the beach

Yet another beach themed card! Summertime is certainly here chez Willis.

The ones I've made so far have been more suited to grown ups but this one would be perfect for a little girl.  I've used layers of paper from a very, very old pad made by a brand called Craft Creatives - I've no idea whether they are still around, the name seems unfamiliar.

The sentiment and the stamps I used to build up the seaside scene are all stamps that came with a magazine earlier this year. I kept the stamped areas uncoloured to make the main image stand out more.

The main image is a digi I've had for some years, from Whoopsi Daisy designs. It's slightly unusual as it was supplied as a sheet of 4 different images combined to make a single jpg which means that you can't use and resize single images from the sheet; it seems to be impossible to manipulate them at all. That means you really have to treat the image as you would a rubber stamp, planning the card around the image rather than manipulating it to suit the card. Which is probably why, although I've had it for years, it is the first time I have used it - and didn't realise until I started to colour it that part of the girl's leg, the part that shows through the bucket handle, had been omitted from the image so i had to draw it in myself.

I used Promarkers to colour the image to coordinate with the papers and mounted it with 3-d adhesive.

I am sharing this with

Such a summery card, Jane! Love your choice of papers and the way you've created the scene with the little girl. Thanks for playing along with my challenge at Passion for Promarkers this week, Lisa x

PS If you're running Windows 10, you can crop an A4 sheet with their photo viewer. Open the jpg file and along the top, there is a square with a line through it....this is the crop tool. You can use this to crop the 4 different parts of the A4 sheet and then save them as a copy to resize using the print settings or in a graphics program. Hope this helps.
