London skyline

I do love city skylines in crafting - stamps, dies, even ribbons, I can't resist them. I'm particularly fond of the Tim Holtz Cityscapes set which I got as soon as they came out - about 4 years ago? - and have used countless times since.

To make the background I swiped an embossing folder (also a Tim Holtz one, pure coincidence) with black Versafine ink and embossed it then immediately covered it in clear embossing powder and heated it, so the "inny" bits are nice and shiny. Not that you can see it on the photo, of course!

I am sharing this with

What a clever card! I am so glad you shared your technique as I find it very inspiring. I have not tried embossing with an embossing folder, but it really makes sense. And I love your city-scape skyline. You've made a masculine card that I would love to receive myself. Nicely done! Thanks for joining us at Watercooler Wednesday!

What a beautiful card featuring the fabulous London skyline, love the embossed, both ways, background, I've heard of inking the embossing folder but I've never heat embossed the panel right after, what a great idea.
Thank you for sharing with us at RETRO RUBBER, hope you join us next time.

This is lovely, Jane! The way you've not only 'stamp-bossed' the background but then heat embossed it as well is stunning. The cityscape, on a jaunty angle, really draws the eye to it. Great stamp set, too! Thank you for joining us again at Retro Rubber Challenge.
